Custom Homes

Building a custom home is an eighteen-month relationship, and the quality of that relationship matters as much as the quality of the framing. We build a limited number of custom homes at a time so the people you meet at the start are the people on your project at the end.

How We Work

Why clients choose us

Completed custom home — hillside setting and landscape
01

Design and build together

Our architects drew it, our team builds it. Constructability questions get answered internally rather than through a month-long RFI loop.

02

Transparent budgeting

Line-item budgets, open-book allowances, and monthly reporting. You see where the money goes as it goes.

03

A limited number at a time

We deliberately cap concurrent custom homes so senior attention stays on each one.

Scope

What you get

  • Pre-construction budgeting
  • Site work & foundations
  • Framing & envelope
  • MEP rough-in & finish
  • Interior finish & millwork
  • Final inspection & walkthrough
Questions

Answered honestly

If your question is not here, ask us directly. We would rather have the awkward conversation early than the expensive one later.

What does a custom home cost per square foot in San Diego? +

Custom construction generally runs $350–$900+ per square foot depending on site conditions, finish level, and complexity. Site work and grading on difficult lots can move this significantly.

How long does a custom home take? +

Typically 12–20 months of construction after permits, with design and permitting adding 9–18 months before that. We give a project-specific schedule at contract.

Do you build on difficult lots? +

Yes — hillside, canyon-adjacent, and constrained infill sites are common in San Diego. These need honest early feasibility work, which is where we start.
