Ark Haven Builders is a San Diego design-build firm holding architecture, interior design, and construction under one roof. We are one of a small number of firms in the region licensed to both design and build — which means we are accountable for the whole thing.
The gap we were built to close.
Most construction projects fail in the same place: the gap between the people who designed it and the people who build it. The architect draws something; the contractor discovers it does not work, or costs twice the estimate, or conflicts with the structural set. What follows is months of change orders and a client caught in the middle of an argument between two companies they are paying.
Founded by Sebastian Rey Gonzalez, Ark Haven was built to eliminate that gap entirely. Our architects, interior designers, and construction team work in the same office on the same projects. When a detail does not work, we find out during design instead of during framing — and fixing it costs an afternoon rather than a change order.
We deliver custom homes, whole-home remodels, additions, ADUs, commercial projects, and multifamily developments across San Diego County. Different project types, same approach: one team, one contract, and one person accountable for the result.

Formerly project manager for NJR Development and General Superintendent at Habitat for Humanity. He brings the discipline of large-scale capital projects to every Ark Haven engagement.
